Shofner started in both sports in 1949-50 and again in 1953-54 after service duty in the Korean War.

The Bronchos were 56-30 during Shofner’s career, winning three Oklahoma Collegiate Conference titles, and Shofner earned  All-Conference honors in 1950 and ‘54.  He averaged 16.8 points a game as a sophomore in 1950 and 20.2 points as senior in ’54, finishing his career with 1,501 points to rank fifth on the schools all-time scoring list.

S.L. was also a four-year starter on the tennis courts, capping his career with a 22-2 senior season that included the NAIA national singles championship.
