Bailey was a first-team All-District Nine selection at first base his final two years, also earning All-Area III and honorable mention NAIA All-America honors as a senior in 1983.

The Bronchos went 34-19 and won the program’s only District Nine championship in 1983 in qualifying for the NAIA national tournament as Bailey led the team in hits (59), doubles (17), homers (nine) and RBI (58) while batting .322.  Bailey played one year of professional baseball, hitting .410 with four homers and 29 RBI in the minor leagues.
