Genny Honea (Stidham) had a fantastic two-year softball career at UCO as a standout pitcher and shortstop.

Stidham started her college career at Kansas, but spent less than a year there and was out of the sport for four years before coming to UCO in the fall of 1990.  She went 14-5 with 10 shutouts and an 0.73 earned run average the following spring, giving up just 67 hits in 115 1/3 innings pitched while striking out 123. 

Genny came back with another dominating season as a senior in 1992 and earned All-Midwest Regional and All-America honors as the utility player in becoming UCO’s first-ever NCAA Division II softball All-American. 

Stidham went 11-5 with a 1.21 ERA, allowing only 69 hits in 115 2/3 innings while fanning 155, and also batted .425 -- the third-highest average in school history -- with 14 doubles, four triples, three home runs and 24 runs batted in.

She finished with a 25-10 pitching record, a .714 winning percentage that ranks second on UCO’s career list, and she’s third in career strikeouts with 278. 

Genny served as UCO's head softball coach from 1998-13, leading the Bronchos to the school's first-ever national championship in 2013.
