David James has enjoyed a remarkable wrestling career at UCO as both competitor and coach.

James was a four-time All-American for the Bronchos from 1976-80, finishing third as a freshman and second as a sophomore before winning back-to-back NAIA national titles in 1979 and ’80.  He finished his illustrious career with a 116-16 record.

James, a 1980 UCO graduate, took over a head coach of the Bronchos in 1983 and has directed the Bronchos to 12 national championships -- five in NAIA and seven in NCAA Division II.
