Gayle Stout was a two- year star for the Bronchos in the early 1980s, leading the team to 48 wins in that span. she ranks among the school's career leadings in points (10th with 1,004), field goals made (sixth with 427) and the field goals attempted (fourth with 968).

Stout averaged 16.9 points a game as a junior in 1981-82, setting single- season school records for field goals made (256) and attempted (549) as UCO went 25-10 and made it to the AIAW national quarterfinals before losing to eventual champion Francis Marion. She averaged 12.2 points a contest the following season, leading the Bronchos to a 23-11 record and the NAIA District 9 finals.
