The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is an organization composed of Central Oklahoma student-athletes assembled to provide insight on the student-athlete experience and to represent the diverse interests of student-athletes. SAAC offers input on the rules, regulations and policies that affect the lives of student-athletes on the University of Central Oklahoma campus and involvement in the community.
SAAC meets monthly throughout the academic year and is responsible for initiatives such as voting on behalf of UCO student-athletes on NCAA and MIAA legislation and hosting community engagement events such as a Trick or Treat Festival, bake sale fundraisers and canned food drives. The committee is also involved in a multitude of other community outreach projects determined by the membership each year.
MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the University of Central Oklahoma Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is to enhance the overall student-athlete experience by creating open lines of communication between the UCO student-athletes and the athletic administration, to help unite the athletic teams on campus with one another as well as with the UCO student body, and to foster a positive student-athlete image throughout the UCO campus and local community and surrounding neighborhoods.
