John Williamson was a rare three-sport letterman back in the 1920s, starring in football, basketball and track.

Williamson, who graduated in 1925 and died in 1972, earned most of his athletic fame on the gridiron, leading the Bronchos to a 33-7-2 record and two Oklahoma Collegiate Conference championships during his career.

During Williamson's senior season in 1924 the Bronchos finished 9-1, including a 2-0 win over the University of Oklahoma and victories over additional big-school powers Baylor and Tulsa.

Williamson, who recieved the Wantland Trophy Award in 1922 honoring the school's Outstanding Male Athlete, was named a Distinguished Former Student in 1955.
