A head coach at Central for 22 years, Paul Parent led both the men's and women's track & field programs, as well as both cross country programs.
 
Parent coached 79 indoor and outdoor All-Americans – 60 in NAIA and 19 in NCAA Division II. He had two men's relay teams win an NAIA national championship and coached Joe Aska to the 1994 Indoor national championship in the 55-meters.
 
The Bronchos won 11 NAIA District titles, six in men and five in women's competition. UCO also won three Lone Star Conference Championships in cross country, two in men and one women's.
 
Parent was the District Coach of the Year six times and the Lone Star Coach of the Year twice. He was also previously inducted into the Oklahoma Track Coaches Hall of Fame and the Southwestern Christian Athletic Hall of Fame.
 
Parent also taught at UCO in the Kinesiology and Heath Studies Department. He and his wife had three children who also have had successful careers in coaching and education.
