Ronnie James enjoyed a stellar four-year career with the Bronchos from 1980-84 as one of the school’s best ever wrestlers.  He finished with an amazing 122-16-1 career record that ranks second in all-time winning percentage (.881) and sixth in career wins.

James came in as a freshman in 1980-81 and won the NAIA national championship at 134 pounds en route to a 17-5 record.  He came back as a sophomore to take the 142 pound NAIA title with a 36-4-1 record and finished 28-3 as a junior in 1982-83 in winning a third straight national crown.

Ronnie finished 41-4 and placed third in the national tournament as a senior to become a rare four-time All-Americans.  He is one of just two Bronchos to have won three national championships.

James set a school record with a 47-match winning streak during his junior and senior seasons and he led the Bronchos to three team titles during his career.
