Jeff Robinett enjoyed a stellar three-year starting career as a lightweight for the Bronchos, earning NAIA All-America honors in 1978, '79 and '80 while finishing with a 71-19-1 record.

He was a fifth-place national placer at 118 pounds in 1978 and came back the next year with a national runner-up finish at 118 in helping lead UCO to its first-ever national wrestling championship.

Robinett overcame a controversial quarterfinal loss in the national tournament as a senior to finish third at 126 pounds as the Bronchos took third in the team race.
