Rhonda Lawson was a defensive gem at catcher during her three years at UCO and earned All- District 9 honors twice, capping her career with an All-America senior campaign.

She had 17 stolen bases ans was a first-team All District 9 selection as a sophomore in 1983, started again all season in 1984 and then had a superb final season in 1985.

Lawson finished with a perfect 1.000 fielding percent with no errors in 324 fielding chances while allowing only 24 stolen bases in 280 innings, picking up All-District and All-America recognition as the Bronchos were ranked as high as No. 2 in the counrty before losing in the District 9 finals.
