Johnny Nimmo became the first four-time national champion in Central Oklahoma's storied wrestling history in 1990 to cap an amazing career on the mat.
Nimmo won NAIA national titles in 1987, 88, and 89 and capped his career with an NCAA Division II crown in 1990. He finished with a 131-38-1 career record and a then-school-record 50 falls while helping the Bronchos win two national team titles.
Johnny began his career in style, going 38-9 with 18 falls en route to winning his first national title as a freshman at 150 pounds while also taking tournament Outstanding Wrestler honors.  He repeated as a sophomore, finishing 27-10 with nine falls at 158 pounds.
Nimmo made it three in a row as a junior in 1988-89, going 37-10 with 14 falls and winning the 158 pound title again.  UCO moved to Division II in 1989-90 and Nimmo -- after missing two months of the season with a knee injury that nearly ended his career -- captured the 150-pound crown with a last-second victory.
