Goodson won three regional championships and was a three-time All-American for the powerful UCO wrestling team from 1996-98, finishing his career with a 95-27 record.

He went 9-3 in a back-up role as a redshirt freshman on a national championship team in 1994-95 before claiming the Midwest Regional crown and finishing third nationally the following season while going 22-9 with seven bonus-point wins at 126 pounds.

Goodson went up to 134 and had a 30-10 record with 13 bonus wins in 1996-97, capturing another regional crown and taking fifth in the national tournament.

He finished his career in dominating fashion as a senior in 1997-98, dropping back down to 126 and going 34-5 with 12 bonus wins and 142 takedowns. Goodson won five tournaments and was runner-up in two others, capping the season by capturing a third straight Midwest Regional title before rolling to the NCAA Division II national championship.
