Luther Pegues came to UCO in 1962 after two years at Eastern Oklahoma College and led the Bronchos to two consecutive conference titles.  Central was a combined 44-10 with Pegues leading the way, going 21-6 his junior season and 23-4 his senior campain.
A defensive whiz and deadly outside shooter, Pegues eraned All-Conference honors both years.  He averaged 13.2 points a game in 1962-63 and 14.0 points a contest in 1963-64 when the Bronchos advanced to the quarterfinals of the NAIA national tornement.
Pegues later served as UCO’s assistant coach from 1969-76.
