O’Neill was a four-year starter for the Bronchos at middle blocker from 1994-97 and finished her career as one of the finest players in school history.
She was named Lone Star Conference Freshman of the Year in 1994 after making 345 kills and 116 blocks in helping UCO capture its first-ever conference title and make its initial appearance in the NCAA Division II national tournament.
O’Neill came back the next season to earn second-team All-LSC honors after collecting 474 kills and 93 blocks with a .312 hitting percentage and then lettered in a reserve role on the UCO basketball team. She had 438 kills, 158 blocks and a .356 hitting percentage as a first-team All-LSC pick as a junior.
O’Neill put together a sensational senior season in 1997, hitting a league-leading and school-record .430 percent in racking up 444 kills and 151 blocks as a first-team All-LSC North Division selection in addition to claiming Academic All-LSC honors for the second straight year.
She owns the school career record for hitting percentage (.338) while ranking second in assisted blocks (439), third in kills (1,701) and fourth in solo blocks (79).
