The UCO libero, a Kalona, Iowa native, was superb in leading No. 21 Central Oklahoma to three wins in five days last week. She helped guide the Bronchos past Oklahoma Baptist, and then opened MIAA play with wins over Newman and Pittsburg State.

She was also named MIAA Defensive Player of the Week on Monday.

Evans recorded 67 digs in three matches this week, an average of 7.44 per set. Evans had 15 digs in one set alone against Pitt State on Saturday. Evans averaged 8.17 digs per set in two MIAA contests, totaling 49 digs in the wins over Newman and Pitt State.

Central Oklahoma is 11-1 overall this season and 2-0 in the MIAA. The Bronchos are also riding a seven-game win streak. Evans, who has played in 8 of 12 matches this season for UCO, leads the defense from her libero position. She is also among the national leaders with 170 digs this season and is averaging 6.07 per set. That currently ranks fifth in the country.

UCO has a big week ahead in MIAA play. The Bronchos visit Nebraska Kearney on Thursday night. The Lopers, who set a Division II attendance record earlier this year with 4,003 fans, are currently ranked No. 10 in the country.
