Kaitlyn Parrott Earns Second All-American Nod

UCO Junior Libero Is A Consensus Second Team All-American

GREENVILLE, S.C. – Kaitlyn Parrott was named Second Team All-American by the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) in an announcement Wednesday afternoon.

After being named Second Team All-American by the American Volleyball Coaches Association Wednesday morning, the junior libero from Allen, Texas earned the same honor from the D2CCA in the afternoon. Sports Information Directors vote on the D2CAA teams.

"Just as with the coaches' association honor, this is a big deal and we are so proud of Kaitlyn," UCO head volleyball coach Edgar Miraku said. "There are two All-American teams for Division II volleyball and she is on both of them, that's big. We're happy for her and she deserves the recognition."

Parrott earned First Team All-MIAA honors in November and was named MIAA Libero of the Year. She earned First Team All-Region honors by both the AVCA and the D2CCA, and now has Second Team All-American honors from both.

This season, she ranked No. 5 in the country in digs per set (5.74) and sixth nationally in total digs (643). The latter ranks 10th in UCO history for a single season. Parrott had at least 30 digs in a match three times this season – one of those contests was a three-set match. She had at least 20 digs in a match 16 times and UCO was 12-4 in matches she recorded at least 20 digs.

Parrott also led UCO with 47 service aces this season.

Central Oklahoma went 27-6 this year and earned the No. 4 seed in the MIAA Volleyball Championship, where the Bronchos finished as a semifinalist. UCO then earned a second consecutive berth in the NCAA Division II Volleyball Championship where it lost in the Central Region quarterfinals.
