TAHLEQUAH, Okla. (April 3) – Two clutch pitching performances and a pair of solo home runs gave Central Oklahoma a big 3-1 Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association victory over Northeastern State here Friday afternoon.

Andrew Davis and Dennis Morelli combined to give up seven hits on the mound, while Isaac Hellbusch and Tyler Hatcher slammed late-inning homers to break a 1-1 tie as the Bronchos evened the four-game series heading into Saturday's noon doubleheader.

"Baseball is a players game and our guys took ownership today on both sides of the ball," head coach Dax Leone said.  "Andrew Davis came up big for us today and pitched extremely well.  We played great defense and had two big solo home runs from Ike (Hellbusch) and (Tyler) Hatcher."

UCO took a 1-0 lead in the third when Collin Day led off with a single, went to second on Chris Lobato's hit and scored on Dilon Argo's one-out single.

The RiverHawks tied it in the fourth and it stayed deadlocked until the eighth when Hellbusch blasted a homer to left field.  Hatcher made it 3-1 in the ninth with a blast down the right field line.

Davis started and went the first six innings, giving up five hits and one run while walking three and striking out one.  Morelli gained the win after giving up two hits in the final three innings.

Day went 3-for-3 to lead UCO's eight-hit attack, while Hatcher had two hits.
