Central Oklahoma Has 10 Home Contests This Fall

EDMOND – Central Oklahoma announced its 2026 schedule Monday, opening the new season the last weekend of August in Arkansas.

UCO will play 28 matches, including 10 home dates at Hamilton Field House and 12 MIAA contests. Conference action will begin late September in Maryville, Missouri for the Bronchos.

"We ready to get started," UCO head volleyball coach Edgar Miraku said. "We are in a rebuilding, or reloading, phase. We have a very young team with 13 freshmen and sophomores. So it's going to be a process. But we are excited. We have an All-American back and our seniors are ready to lead the way."

UCO went 27-6 last season, reached the MIAA Volleyball Championship semifinals, and made its second consecutive run at a Central Regional Title.

UCO opens the new 2026 season with the Southern Arkansas Classic. The Bronchos will face Southern Arkansas, UT Tyler, Arkansas Monticello, and Texas A&M Kingsville in Magnolia, Arkansas Aug. 27-29.

After a trip to Shawnee Sept. 1 to play Oklahoma Baptist, Central Oklahoma will visit Denton, Texas for the Texas Woman's Volleyfest Sept. 3-5. UCO is scheduled to play UT Dallas, Texas Woman's, Westminster, and Southern Arkansas.

The Bronchos will then co-host with Oklahoma Baptist the MIAA/GAC Crossover event. Central Oklahoma will make its home debut Sept. 10 against Southwestern Oklahoma State and Northeastern State. UCO then welcomes East Central and Ouachita Baptist Sept. 11-12. NSU is playing its first season of volleyball this fall and is the 13th MIAA school to field a team.

MIAA play officially begins Sept. 17-18 with Northwest Missouri State and Missouri Western State on the road. The Bronchos will then host three league games before hitting the road again. Of the 12 MIAA matches this fall, UCO has six at home and six on the road.

New to the MIAA, the league will divide into four mid-season tournaments with two games for each program not counting toward the league standings. The Bronchos will head to Joplin, Missouri Oct. 15-16 to face Arkansas Fort Smith and Missouri Southern.

UCO will close out their home season Oct. 23-24 with matches against Fort Hays State and Nebraska Kearney. The Bronchos wrap up regular season on the road at Northeastern State and Arkansas Fort Smith Nov. 5-6.

The 2026 MIAA Volleyball Championship is scheduled for Nov. 12-14 in St. Joseph, Missouri. The NCAA Volleyball Championship is scheduled for Nov. 19-21 (Regionals) and Dec. 3-5 (Nationals).
