Bronchos Finish Third At GNAC Championships

Central Oklahoma Finishes Second In Varsity 4+ Title Race

GOLD RIVER, Calif. – Central Oklahoma raced to a third-place finish in the 2026 Great Northwest Athletic Conference Championships Saturday on Lake Natoma.
 
UCO finished second in the Varsity 4+ race to earn 10 team points and followed that with a fourth-place finish in the Varsity 8+ race for nine team points.
 
Western Washington won the team title with first-place finished in both races for 30 team points. Cal Poly Humboldt earned 23 team points to finish second. Seattle Pacific was one point behind the Bronchos in fourth with 18 team points.
 
The Bronchos rolled out a lineup of Saleana Tipton (coxswain), Jamie Cullen, Tierney Westermier, Dara Dennis, and Brittany Blackwell for the V4+ championship. UCO raced its fours boat across the finish line in 8:22.30, just under four seconds behind Western Washington (8:18.42). Humboldt was third four seconds behind the Bronchos at 8:26 and SPU finished fourth in 8:49.
 
Paige Ranney (coxswain), Carlota Martinez, Rachel Harris, Raphaela Sanchez, Sawyer Schreiner, Eva-Louisa Eschbach, Grace McConville, Adriana Hogan, and Ksenia Mrsny made up the lineup for the V8+ championship race. The Bronchos finished the eights in 7:30.36. Western Washington took top honors in 7:15.49, with Humboldt (7:18.58) and Seattle Pacific (7:23.85) finishing second and third.
 
Central Oklahoma also competed in an Open 4+ race prior to the two championship contests. Humboldt won in 8:25.97 with UCO finishing second in 8:35.98. WWU (8:36) was third and SPU (8:53) was fourth.
 
The NCAA Division II Rowing Championships are scheduled for May 30-31 in Georgia. The selection show is Tuesday, May 19 and the Bronchos will find out then if their season continues later this month at nationals.
