Bronchos Race In Tulsa Saturday

Central Oklahoma Competing With Three Boats This Weekend

CATOOSA, Okla. – Central Oklahoma continues its fall racing season with a matchup against Tulsa Saturday on the Verdigris River.

UCO will race three boats this weekend with the Varsity 8+ and two Varsity 4+ boats on the water. The fours race first at 8 a.m. and the eights race at 9:30 a.m.

"I'm very excited for us to get back out on a race course and to see our improvements from head of the Oklahoma to now," first-year head rowing coach Juliana Lynch said.

Saleana Tipton will lead the fours from the coxswain seat. Raphaela Sanchez, Dara Dennis, Brittany Blackwell, and Sawyer Schreiner will join her in the boat that races at 8 a.m. Saturday. Ella Berg will lead the second fours along with Carlota Martinez, Tierney Westermier, Mady Wright, and Abby Millwood.

In the eights, Ghislyn Tucker will take the coxswain seat. Wright, Westermier, Martinez, Blackwell, Dennis, Caroline Hisey, Aniya Alex, and Millwood will make up the boat that launches at 9:30 a.m.

Central Oklahoma previously competed in the annual Head of the Oklahoma regatta earlier this month. The Bronchos had two V4+ boats finish eighth and 11th while the V8+ boat finished fifth.

UCO will wrap up the fall schedule with the annual Frostbite Regatta in Wichita, Kansas in November.
