LEXINGTON, Ky. – Central Oklahoma is ranked No. 4 in the country in this week's American Volleyball Coaches Association Top 25, announced Monday, marking the highest ranking in school history.
The Bronchos are 4-0 on the season after the first week of play. Central went to the Patriot Classic in Tyler, Texas and won all four matches in three sets. UCO beat UT Dallas, host UT Tyler, which was receiving votes in the preseason AVCA poll, and then took down previously ranked No. 5 Ferris State, which is No. 7 this week. The Bronchos also beat Ouachita Baptist. Tyler, FSU, and OBU were national tournament teams last season.
UCO hosts Oklahoma Baptist on Tuesday night at Hamilton Field House. The Bronchos welcome the Bison from Shawnee at 6 p.m. for the 2025 home opener. Central will travel to San Antonio, Texas for the Rattler Invitational this weekend at St. Mary's University.
Central Oklahoma has been ranked in nearly 100 AVCA polls, with last year's top ranking of No. 6 the previous best. UCO was No. 7 in this year's preseason poll and is now fourth after a 4-0 start.
