Mikiah Perdue Named MIAA Defensive Player of the Week

Central Oklahoma Senior Middle Blocker Turned Back 20 Shots In Five Matches Last Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Central Oklahoma senior Mikiah Perdue was named MIAA Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.
 
Perdue led Central Oklahoma to a 5-0 week with the Bronchos beat Oklahoma Baptist in Edmond before taking down four opponents at the Rattler Invitational hosted by St. Mary's in San Antonio, Texas. UCO beat Fairmont State (W.V.), Texas A&M International, host St. Mary's, and Florida Southern.
 
Perdue led the Bronchos with stifling defense, racking up 20 blocks at the net. The Tulsa, Oklahoma native averaged 1.33 blocks per set, putting back four solo blocks and 16 block-assists. She had four blocks in each of the last three matches on the weekend.
 
Perude also had 40 kills for the offense, averaging 2.67 per set with a stout .326 hitting percentage.
 
Central Oklahoma plays at home this week. The Bronchos host Texas Woman's on Tuesday night before co-hosting with Oklahoma Baptist an MIAA/GAC crossover event. UCO hosts Southwestern Oklahoma State, East Central, Northwestern Oklahoma State, and Southern Nazarene. Eight matches in total will be played Thursday-Saturday in Edmond.
