Central Oklahoma Travels To Emporia State

Bronchos Playing Three MIAA Games At ESU Saturday-Monday

EMPORIA, Kan. – Central Oklahoma continues a six-game MIAA opening road trip this weekend with a three-game series at Emporia State beginning Saturday afternoon.

The Bronchos are 10-4 on the season after the first month of play, and 1-2 in the MIAA after the first week of conference. Emporia State is 5-5 this season and also 1-2 in league play.

"Every team is good in this league and winning on the road is hard, so we're going to have to lock in and play every game with a lot of energy and focus," UCO head coach John Martin said. "We've played really well in some games, but not all of them. We're trying to get to a consistent level."

UCO opened the season 2-2 after the Edmond First Pitch Classic, then went 4-0 in Arkansas at the Henderson State Invitational. The Bronchos wrapped up non-conference play with a three-game sweep of Colorado Christian before dropping 2 of 3 at Washburn earlier this week in the conference opener.

The Bronchos do have two more non-cons mixed in the schedule. UCO hosts Arkansas Tech March 11 and visits Oklahoma Baptist April 29. Central Oklahoma returns home next weekend to host Pittsburg State in MIAA play March 7-9 at Wendell Simmons Field.
