Bronchos Open MIAA Play At Washburn

Central Oklahoma Plays Two Sunday, Once Monday For First League Series

TOPEKA, Kan. – No. 24 Central Oklahoma begins conference play Sunday with a doubleheader to begin its three-game series with Washburn.

The Bronchos are 9-2 this season and on a nine-game win streak heading into this weekend. UCO and Washburn will play at 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Sunday, with a third game scheduled for Monday at 1 p.m. to wrap up the series.

"It's going to be a tough series, but every series in the MIAA is going to be that way," UCO head baseball coach John Martin said. "We just have to be ready for it. We're going to have to fight for it every inning of every game."

UCO started the season with losses to Missouri St. Louis and MSU Denver before bouncing back with wins over Southeastern Oklahoma State and East Central. The Bronchos went 4-0 in Week 2 with wins at Henderson State and at Ouachita Baptist with two more victories over Southern Arkansas on the weekend. This past weekend, UCO swept a three-game series with Colorado Christian.
