Mikiah Perdue Named MIAA Offensive Athlete of the Week

Broncho Senior Earns Fourth League Honor This Season, Second In A Row

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Central Oklahoma senior Mikiah Perdue was named MIAA Offensive Athlete of the Week for the second week in a row, the league announced Monday.

Perdue, a senior from Jenks, Oklahoma, earned the same honor last week. She earned Defensive Athlete of the Week honors in back-to-back weeks at the beginning of the season.

In two games this past week, Perdue totaled 21 kills and averaged 3.00 kills per set with a .378 hitting percentage. The senior middle blocker had 11 kills in four sets at Central Missouri, a 3-1 win for the Bronchos. She had 10 more kills in a three-set sweep at Missouri Southern on Saturday.

Perdue had just two hitting errors in each game, four for the week on 45 attacks. She also had two blocks and one dig.

Central Oklahoma beat Central Missouri to avenge a loss earlier this season in Edmond. The Bronchos beat Missouri Southern for the fourth consecutive meeting, sweeping the season series for the second year in a row.

UCO is home this week, hosting Newman on Thursday and Pittsburg State on Friday. Both matches start at 6 p.m. and the Newman contest will be preceded by Senior Night festivities, when Perdue and her fellow seniors will be recognized.
