Huck, Houran Named To MIAA All-Tournament Team

Broncho Seniors Led UCO To MIAA Volleyball Championship Semfiinals

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Central Oklahoma seniors Sydney Huck and Lindsey Houran were named to the MIAA Volleyball Championship All-Tournament Team, announced Monday.

UCO was the No. 4 seed in the league's eight-team postseason tournament and reached the semifinals in St. Joseph, Missouri this past weekend. Top-seeded regular season champion Nebraska Kearney won the postseason title.

Huck landed 31 kills in two matches, averaging 3.17 per set on the weekend. The senior from McKinney, Texas hit .314 on 35 total attacks. Huck had 14 kills in a 3-0 sweep of Emporia State and 17 kills in the three-set semifinal loss to Kearney. She added dive digs and two blocks on defense.

Houran directed the offense and continued her ways with 70 assists in two matches. She averaged 11.67 assists per set through six sets played. Houran dished out 38 in the sweep of Emporia State and had 32 assists against Kearney. She also had two service aces and one kill as well as 17 digs.

Central Oklahoma awaits its fate with Monday night's NCAA Division II Volleyball Championship selection show, airing on ncaa.com at 6:30 p.m.
