Kaitlyn Parrott Named MIAA Defensive Player of the Week

Junior Libero Leads The Country In Digs Per Set This Season

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Central Oklahoma junior libero Kaitlyn Parrott was named MIAA Defensive Player of the Week the league announced Monday.
 
Parrott led No. 4 Central Oklahoma to a 1-1 week on the road in league play as the Bronchos swept Fort Hays State 3-0 before falling at No. 5 Nebraska Kearney 3-1.
 
Parrott totaled 56 digs in two matches, averaging 8.0 per set through seven sets played. The Allen, Texas native totaled 20 digs in the sweep of Fort Hays State and then recorded a season-high 36 digs against Kearney.
 
The junior leads the country in digs per set this season, averaging 6.04 per set. She also ranks fifth in total digs with 443 this season.
 
Central Oklahoma plays Arkansas Fort Smith twice this week, visiting the Lions in Fort Smith, Arkansas Wednesday night at 6 p.m. UCO hosts UAFS Saturday at 1 p.m. at Hamilton Field House in the return match.
