LEXINGTON, Ky. – Central Oklahoma held firm to its position in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association Top 25, with the Bronchos hanging tight at No. 13 in the country.
Central Oklahoma went 2-0 last week as the Bronchos opened MIAA play. UCO beat Newman and Pittsburg State – both 3-0 sweeps. The Bronchos have swept 11 of 15 opponents this season, 3-0.
UCO is 15-0 on the season – the best mark of any team in the country – after four weeks of play. The Bronchos tied the record for best start in school history, matching the 2014 team. Central has a chance to set a new record this week when the Bronchos face Missouri Southern in Joplin, Mo. on Friday night.
Central Oklahoma will also travel to Central Missouri on Saturday. The Jennies of Warrensburg, Mo. are receiving votes in the AVCA poll, just outside of the Top 25.
MIAA member Nebraska Kearney (14-0) is ranked No. 3 in the poll. Missouri Western (11-2), Washburn (9-3), and UCM (5-5) are all receiving votes outside the poll.
