LEXINGTON, Ky. – Central Oklahoma continued to climb up the national rankings in this week's edition of the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Top 25, with the Bronchos checking in at No. 13.
UCO, which was ranked 15th last week, moved up a couple spots after another perfect week of play. The Bronchos went 4-0 last week to run their record to 13-0 on the season. Central completed non-conference play with an unbeaten record and is one of just nine teams in the country undefeated through three weeks of play.
UCO now shifts its focus to the grueling MIAA. The Bronchos open conference play Friday against Newman at 6 p.m. inside Hamilton Field House. Central also plays Pittsburg State Saturday at 2 p.m.
A trio of teams from the MIAA appear in the rankings. Nebraska Kearney (12-0) is ranked third, and Washburn (9-1) is ranked 24th. Central Missouri and Missouri Western are also listed as receiving votes in the poll of coaches from around the country.
