Volleyball Announces 2024 Schedule

Bronchos Line Up 30 Game Slate For Fall Campaign

EDMOND – Central Oklahoma announced Monday its 2024 volleyball schedule, with 30 games on tap for this Fall.

UCO, under the direction of 13th-year head coach Edgar Miraku, begins its latest campaign Sept. 5 in San Angelo, Texas. The Bronchos will play four games at Angelo State as part of the Kathleen Brasfield Invitational.

Following a single non-conference matchup at Oklahoma Baptist on Sept. 10, UCO will head to Florida for its second early season tournament. The Bronchos are playing in the Flagler Saints Classic in St. Augustine, Florida with four games in three days Sept. 12-14.

UCO will make its home debut Sept. 19 against Southwestern Oklahoma State. The Bronchos are co-hosting a tournament with Southern Nazarene and will play four games in three days at Hamilton Field House against SWOSU, OBU, East Central, and Southeastern Oklahoma State.

MIAA play begins Sept. 27 at home for the Bronchos and the league is a little different in 2024. Arkansas Fort Smith is joining the MIAA beginning July 1 and the addition of the Lions from Fort Smith, Arkansas gives the MIAA 12 volleyball schools.

UCO will play all 11 opponents once and five opponents twice.

The Bronchos begin with Newman and Pittsburg State before a road trip to Missouri Southern and Central Missouri.

UCO makes another road trip to Northwest Missouri and Missouri Western before hosting Fort Hays State and Nebraska Kearney.

In late October, the Bronchos will host Fort Smith on a Wednesday before traveling east to Arkansas for the return match that Saturday.

In November, UCO finishes with return matches against Central Missouri and Missouri Southern, as well as Pittsburg State and Newman.

UCO closes the 2024 regular season Nov. 15-16 against Washburn and Emporia State in Edmond.

The 2024 MIAA Volleyball Championship is scheduled for Nov. 21-23 in St. Joseph, Missouri. Central Oklahoma has a 269-90 record since joining the MIAA in 2012, which is the same year Miraku took over the program. The Bronchos have six 25-win seasons and two 30-win campaigns under Miraku's leadership.

Central Oklahoma will be selling season tickets to volleyball again in 2024. Single game general admission tickets and season tickets will go on sale later this summer.
