No. 11 Bronchos Visit Pitt State

Central Oklahoma Plays Final Two Regular Season Road Matches

PITTSBURG, Kan. – No. 11 Central Oklahoma begins the final road trip of the regular season Friday with an MIAA matchup at Pittsburg State. First serve is scheduled for 6 p.m.
 
Central Oklahoma is 23-2 on the season with a 10-2 record in the MIAA. Pitt State is 10-12 on the year with a 5-7 record in league play. The two teams met Sept. 28 in Hamilton Field House and UCO cruised to a 3-0 victory.
 
UCO will also play at Newman Saturday afternoon. The Bronchos wrap up the regular season next weekend with home matches against Washburn and Emporia State.
 
Central's offense is a versatile and aggressive attack led by junior setter Lindsey Houran. The Colleyville, Texas native has 937 assists this season, averaging 11.29 per set. Houran can set powerful attackers pin to pin.
 
Addison Wimmer, a senior outside hitter, has a team-high 257 kills this season, averaging 3.38 per set. Wimmer, from Yukon, Oklahoma, hits .242 on the season. Sydney Huck, a junior outside hitter, has 239 kills. The McKinney, Texas native hits .239 and averages 3.19 kills per set.
 
Jenna Karp, a three-time All-MIAA selection and senior middle blocker, has 238 kills this year. The Spring, Texas native hits a powerful .389 through 76 sets and averages 3.13 kills per set. Karp is also a key player on defense with a team-high 61 blocks, 0.8 per set.
 
Mikaela Garvin and Lari Migliorino help out on offense too. Garvin, a graduate student from San Antonio, Texas, has 198 kills and averages 2.68 per set. Migliorino, a junior from Blanchard, Oklahoma, has 115 kills. The two also play a big role on defense. Migliorinio has 60 blocks and Garvin has 57.
 
Also leading the defense from the backend is Katie Le, a senior libero from Mansfield, Texas. Le has 436 digs on the season, an average of 5.07 per set. Houran adds 237 digs to aid the defense as well.
 
Pittsburg State ranks 10th in the MIAA in hitting percentage (.175) and 11th in kills per set (11.91). The Gorillas are looking to snap a two-game losing streak. PSU has lost 4 of 5 since a season-best three-game win streak to start the month of October.
 
UCO owns a 27-9 advantage in the all-time series with Pitt State. The Bronchos have won three in a row overall and are looking for a second consecutive win in Pittsburg, Kansas.
