Addison Wimmer Named MIAA Offensive Athlete of the Week

Senior Outside Hitter Collected 28 Kills Last Week

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Central Oklahoma senior Addison Wimmer was named MIAA Offensive Athlete of the Week, the league announced Monday, following her standout performance on the court.

Wimmer led all hitters with 28 kills and her 4.0 kills per set rate was also best in the league. The senior from Yukon had eight kills in Central's loss to Arkansas Fort Smith on Wednesday night in Edmond, then led the team to a redemption win Saturday in Fort Smith when she landed 20 kills.

Wimmer also added 21 digs and three blocks on defense.

Central Oklahoma gave up its only home contest of the season last Wednesday to Fort Smith, which earned a 3-1 victory. But the Bronchos responded with an easy 3-0 sweep of the Lions on Saturday in Fort Smith.

UCO is 21-2 on the season and 8-2 in the MIAA. The Bronchos are back home again this weekend and will play Central Missouri Friday night at 6 p.m. before welcoming Missouri Southern Saturday at 2 p.m.
