Lindsey Houran Named MIAA Setter of the Week

Central Oklahoma's Sophomore Setter Earns Weekly League Award For Fifth Time This Season

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Lindsey Houran added one last MIAA Setter of the Week award as Central Oklahoma shifts from the regular season to the postseason this week.

Houran led No. 16 Central Oklahoma to a 3-2 win over Missouri Western and a 3-0 win over Northwest Missouri.

Houran set the attack for the Bronchos' huge come-from-behind five-set victory over Missouri Western on Friday night. She had 52 assists in the match as the Bronchos erased a 2-0 deficit to win the match.

Saturday in a sweep of Northwest Missouri, Houran dished out 40 assists in three sets as the Bronchos cruised to victory.

Houran averaged 11.50 assists per set on the week with 92 total assists. She also had 23 digs, four kills, and two blocks.

Central Oklahoma finished the 2023 regular season this weekend with a 26-4 overall record. The Bronchos finished their MIAA schedule with an 17-3 record and clinched the No. 2 seed in the MIAA Volleyball Championship, which begins Thursday in St. Joseph, Missouri.

UCO will play No. 7 seed Missouri Southern. The semifinals are scheduled for Friday evening and the championship match is scheduled for Saturday at 6 p.m.
