Bronchos Hold At 17 In AVCA Poll

Central Oklahoma Wraps Up Five-Game Road Trip This Weekend In Kansas

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Central Oklahoma remained at No. 17 in this week's American Volleyball Coaches Association Top 25, announced Monday.

Central Oklahoma is 22-4 this season with a 13-3 record in the MIAA. The Bronchos are tied for second in the league standings. Central Missouri (14-2) entered the rankings for the first time this season at No. 23. Nebraska Kearney (13-3) remained No. 10 in the country.
 
UCO beat Newman and Missouri Southern last week before seeing its nine-game win streak snapped in a road game at Central Missouri.
 
This week, UCO wraps up a five-game road trip with matchups at Washburn and Emporia State on Friday and Saturday respectively. Washburn dropped out of the Top 25 this week. The Ichabods of Topeka, Kansas are 14-9 on the year and 8-8 in league play. They host the Bronchos Friday night. The Lady Hornets of Emporia, Kansas are 11-13 overall and 5-11 in league play. They host UCO on Saturday.
 
Central Oklahoma returns home for the final two games of the 2023 season after this weekend's trip. The Bronchos host Missouri Western (18-7, 11-5) on Friday, Nov. 10 and will wrap up the regular season against Northwest Missouri (14-10, 9-7) on Saturday, Nov. 11.
 
The 2023 MIAA Volleyball Championship is scheduled for Nov. 16-18 in St. Joseph, Mo. The top eight teams in the MIAA will play a single-elimination tournament to crown the champion. Central Oklahoma has already clinched a postseason berth.
