UCO Remains Eighth in Regional Rankings

INDIANAPOLIS – Central Oklahoma remained eighth in the final NCAA Central Region rankings announced Wednesday.

Central Oklahoma posted a 24-6 record this season and is prepping for the 2022 MIAA Volleyball Championship, which begins Thursday in St. Joseph, Missouri. UCO is the No. 4 seed in the tournament and is scheduled to play No. 5 Washburn in the quarterfinals.
 
All three teams in front of UCO in the MIAA standings are also listed above the Bronchos in the NCAA rankings. Northwest Missouri finished first in the league and is fourth in the region. Nebraska Kearney finished second and is ranked fifth. And Central Missouri finished third in the MIAA and is ranked one spot in front of the Bronchos at seventh in the regional poll.
 
The top eight teams in the Central Region will advance to the 2022 NCAA Division II Women's Volleyball Championship next month
 
The eight includes three automatic selections of conference tournament champions from the MIAA, the Northern Sun, and the Great American Conference, and five at-large picks.
 
The NCAA Selection Show is scheduled to air at 9:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13 on ncaa.com.
