Central Oklahoma Eighth In Regional Rankings

INDIANAPOLIS – Central Oklahoma is listed No. 8 in the second NCAA Central Region rankings announced Wednesday.

Central Oklahoma is 24-5 this season and ranked No. 21 in the country. The Bronchos are 14-5 in the MIAA and are scheduled to play their final regular season game Wednesday night at No. 10 Northwest Missouri, which is ranked fourth in the region.

The top eight teams in the Central Region, including three automatic selections of conference tournament champions from the MIAA, the Northern Sun, and the Great American Conference, will advance to the 2022 NCAA Division II Women's Volleyball Championship next month.

Central Oklahoma has made six national tournament appearances, including the most recent in 2017. The Bronchos also qualified for nationals in 1994, 2002, 2005, 2007, and 2015 before that.

The 2022 MIAA Volleyball Championship is scheduled for Nov. 10-12 in St. Joseph, Mo. UCO has already qualified for the conference championship, which will produce the league's automatic qualifier to the national tournament.

The 2022 NCAA Division II Women's Volleyball Championship begins Nov. 17 with eight regional tournaments. The advancing teams will meet Dec. 1 in Seattle with the national championship match scheduled for Dec. 3 at Seattle Pacific University.
