UCO Takes B Final Victory In Texas

AUSTIN, Texas – The University of Central Oklahoma rowing team picked up one win in six races Saturday morning in a stacked field on Walter E. Long Lake.

Central's Varsity 8+ boat started the morning with a third-place finish in the first heat, crossing the line in 6:33.11 behind NCAA Division I second-ranked Texas and Notre Dame. The finish put the Bronchos in the B Final later Saturday morning and that's where Central got its win.

UCO won the B Final with a time of 6:30.39, edging local rivals Tulsa and Oklahoma by two and five seconds respectively.

UCO's Varsity 4+ finished fourth in heat racing Saturday morning with a time of 7:42.57 and then came back later in the day in the B Final and finished third with a time of 7:50.97.

Central Oklahoma also had a second V8+ and that group finished third in head racing at 7:39.61 and then second in its B Final with a 7:42.05 time.
