CATOOSA, Okla. – The University of Central Oklahoma rowing team beat Tulsa and Kansas State in Varsity 8+ racing Saturday morning and added a runner-up finish in the fours.
Central's Varsity 4+ finished second behind Kansas State, crossing the finish line in 9:23.38. An Open 4+ followed and UCO took third with a time of 10:17.08.
When it came time for the showcase race of the day, it was all Central Oklahoma.
The eights took the water and cruised to its third win in as many races this season. The Bronchos crossed the finish line in 7:30.91, blowing past Tulsa and Kansas State. TU finished in 7:44.37, 14 seconds after UCO. KSU finished in 7:55.10.
Central Oklahoma will now take next week off before returning to the water April 24 in Austin, Texas. The Bronchos are competing with several crews in the Longhorn Invite, hosted by the University of Texas.
