Central Tames Tigers

EDMOND (March 7) -- Central Oklahoma picked up its second straight sweep of the spring volleyball season Sunday afternoon at Hamilton Field House with a rout of intrastate rival East Central.

The Bronchos, playing their third match in three days, dispatched the Tigers 25-16, 25-21, 25-19 in the non-conference contest.

UCO never trailed in taking the opening set and then pulled out a tight win in the second. The Bronchos led 21-20 before scoring four of the final five points, ending the set on a combined block by Amanda Desch and Payton Bell.

Central finished off the sweep by leading wire-to-wire in the third set, with Courtney Lane's kill finishing it off.

The Bronchos, now 6-3 for the spring campaign, are back home Wednesday to host Pittsburg State at 6 p.m.
