Four UCO Players Earn All-MIAA Honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Nov. 16) – Central Oklahoma had four players earn recognition on the All-MIAA Volleyball Teams that were announced Tuesday by the league office.

Courtney Lane led the way as a first-team selection, while Jenna Karp, Katie Le and Amanda Desch all received second-team honors in a voting of conference coaches.

Lane has been UCO's offensive ringleader all season and enters the MIAA Tournament with 338 kills, a 3.48 per-set average that ranks third in the league. The sophomore outside/right-side hitter also has 275 digs, 39 blocks and 17 service aces for the season.

Karp has been one of the MIAA's top middle blockers all season. The freshman has notched 227 kills while also logging team highs in blocks (100) and aces (23).

Le quickly established herself as one of the best back-row defenders in the league and has enjoyed an outstanding rookie season. She's racked up 582 digs, which ranks 10th on the school's single-season list, and is second in the MIAA with 5.88 per set.

Desch put together another stellar all-around season while splitting time at setter and outside hitter. The senior standout dished out 653 assists to go along with 312 digs, 72 kills, 30 blocks and 22 aces.
