Bronchos Host Pitt State Tuesday

Central Oklahoma looks to avenge a conference-opening loss Tuesday when the Bronchos host Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association foe Pittsburg State.

Match-time at Hamilton Field House is 6 p.m.

UCO is 14-5 on the season and 7-4 in league play, while the Gorillas are 10-8 and 5-6. PSU swept the Bronchos to open conference play on Sept. 17.

"Pitt State has a good team and they took it to us the first time we played," head coach Edgar Miraku said. "Hopefully we play better this time, but we know it's going to be a tough match."

Central owns 21-7 lead in the series, though the Gorillas have won the last three meetings.

Courtney Lane continues to lead the Bronchos and is one of three players with 150-plus kills. The sophomore outside hitter has racked up 231 kills along with 175 digs, 28 blocks and 16 service aces. She ranks third in the MIAA in kills per set (3.55).

Lauren Jenkins (157) and Jenna Karp (153) have added to UCO's offensive attack. Karp has also been a key defensive force at the net with 72 total blocks, a 1.07 per-set average that is second-best in the league.

Brynn Egger has chipped in 102 kills and is hitting a team-high .300, which ranks 10th in the conference.

Katie Le is second in digs with 5.66 per-set, having accumulated 379 on the season.

PSU, which has lost two straight, is led by Meg Auten and Hope White. Auten has 223 kills and 171 digs, while White has contributed 147 kills and 36 blocks.

The Bronchos follow Tuesday's match with a weekend trip to Nebraska-Kearney and Fort Hays State.
