UCO Volleyball Earns Voting Community Award

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The American Volleyball Coaches Association has awarded the University of Central Oklahoma volleyball team and head coach Edgar Miraku with the 2020 Voting Community Award.

Central is one of just 19 schools in the country (NCAA Division II) to receive the honor. There were only two of those 19 in the MIAA.

The Voting Community Award is a new award created to encourage eligible coaches and student-athletes to vote. To win the award, teams must have reached 100 percent participation from eligible voters in the November election. The award will be offered again in 2022, the next national election day.
