No. 10 UCO Visits Northwest Missouri

MARYVILLE, Mo. – The 10th-ranked University of Central Oklahoma soccer team takes on Northwest Missouri on Friday at 3 p.m. in Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association action.

UCO is 14-0 overall, and 7-0 in the MIAA this season as they had to Maryville.

The Bronchos are eager to get another win under their belt and stay undefeated. They are led by senior Katie Killion, who is leading the country in goals on the season with 20. For the fourth consecutive week, she was named MIAA Offensive Player of the Week. Killion also leads the country in total points (46).

"My teammates are the reason for my success," Killion said earlier this week when asked about her season. "They are working hard and they are making my job easier."

Freshmen goalkeeper Kelsi Gibson is leading the conference in goals against average (.185), shutouts (10), and save percentage (.900). Gibson's GAA and save percentage lead the country as well.

Asha Haile is having a standout season herself alongside Killion. She has nine goals on the season so far. Morgan Cherry with five and Madison Motil with four. Kelsie Eason has three goals with 12 shots on goal and leads the team with eight assists, which also leads the MIAA and is 11th in all of NCAA Division II.

Northwest Missouri is 2-11, and 1-6 in the conference. Their MIAA win was against Southwest Baptist, 3-2. Junior, Emily Madden leads the Bearcats with three goals and 22 shots. Molly Holtman also has three goals and Madie Krueger has one.

When these two teams faced each other last year, the Bronchos came out on top 3-0. Central is looking for a solid outcome like that on Friday.

UCO will head to St. Joseph, Mo. for a Sunday matchup against Missouri Western at noon. The Griffons (10-4, 5-2) are currently third in the MIAA standings.
