Four Bronchos Earn All-Region Honors

Central Oklahoma Soccer Placed Four on United Soccer Coaches All-Region Teams

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Central Oklahoma had four players earn All-Region honors, announced by the United Soccer Coaches Association last week.

Rebekah George was a First Team All-Region pick, while Avery Bass, Megan Wilson, and Caleah Carter were each Third Team All-Region selections.

"Very cool to have four All-Region picks, that's a big deal for our program and we are very happy for the players," UCO head women's soccer coach Amel Muhamedagic said. "To be represented at each part of the field is good. They all played a role for us all over the field and were big in helping us reach the MIAA Championship final again this year."

George led UCO with 13 points this season, scoring three goals while dishing out seven assists. She scored two game-winning goals, including the 66th minute winner at Central Missouri in the league playoffs. George earned First Team All-MIAA and last season, earned both All-MIAA and All-Region honors as well.

Bass played all 21 games in goal this season and 11 total shutouts. She made 73 saves and allowed just 18 goals, less than one per game. Bass was named All-MIAA Honorable Mention and earned All-Region for the first time in her career.

Bass finished her career at UCO with 206 saves. She is the second player in school history to record 200 and finished second all-time. Her 91 saves in 2024 rank second in a single season and her 73 this season rank seventh.

Wilson anchored the UCO back line that held opponents to 19 goals in 21 games, 0.90 per game. She helped the team and Bass to 11 shutouts, more than half of games played this season. Teams took just 9.3 shots per game against the Bronchos and only put 96 of 195 total shots on goal. Wilson was Third Team All-MIAA and Third Team All-Region for the first time in her career.

Carter also scored three goals this season and added two assists for a total of eight points. She led the Bronchos with 50 shots taken and also had a team-high 26 shots on goal. Carter scored one game-winning goal – the opening score of a 2-0 win at Fort Hays State in October. Carter was Third Team All-MIAA and Third Team All-Region, earning the honors for the first time in her career.

Central Oklahoma went 10-6-5 this season and finished sixth in the MIAA at 6-3-3. The Bronchos upset No. 3 seed Central Missouri in the MIAA Championship quarterfinals, then beat Emporia State in the semifinals before falling in the final to Missouri Western, 2-1.
