SAN ANGELO, Texas (April 8) -- Central Oklahoma pitchers Chris Muchmore and Mac Gordon combined to throw a two-hitter but it still wasn't enough as the Bronchos fell to Lone Star Conference rival Angelo State 2-1 here Friday night.

The Rams scored on a pair of sacrifice flies in the fourth inning to overcome UCO's 1-0 lead and that was enough to take the opener of the three-game league series.

The Bronchos, who managed just six hits in the game, fell to 13-21 overall and 7-18 in the LSC.  ASU improved to 19-17 and 13-12.  The teams meet for a 1 p.m. doubleheader Saturday.

Muchmore threw three no-hit innings while giving up one run and Gordon allowed just two hits and one run in going the final five frames.

UCO took a 1-0 lead in the second when Derik Grimes was hit by pitch and stole second before scoring on Kade Kauk's single up the middle.

The Rams moved in front in the fourth, scoring twice on just one hit.  A walk and double put runners on second and third, with two consecutive fly balls plating both runners to give ASU a 2-1 that held up to the end.
