EDMOND (March 18) –
Jordan Stern threw a complete-game two-hitter and Central Oklahoma took control early en route to a 12-0 Lone Star Conference rout of East Central here Friday afternoon.

Stern walked just one and struck out five in the seven inning contest that ended early on the 10-run rule, overwhelming the Tigers from the outset.

The senior right-hander got plenty of support, with the Bronchos scoring four first-inning runs and finishing with 11 hits. UCO, now 9-13 overall and 5-11 in the league, hosts the Tigers for a 1 p.m. doubleheader Saturday.

“Our players did a great job of playing unselfish baseball today,” UCO coach Dax Leone said. “There is one way to play the game and we've been doing that lately. Jordan Stern absolutely dominated their hitters from start to finish.”

Ryan Schoonover and Derik Grimes both had two-hit, three-run outings, while Mac Gordon also had two hits.

The Bronchos took control early, pushing across four runs in their initial at bat on just one hit while taking advantage of two walks, two hit batters and two wild pitches.

UCO made it 5-0 in the third on Keegan Morrow's two-out RBI single and had another four-run outburst in the fourth.

Kevin Blue had a three-run double and Tucker Brown a run-scoring single in that frame, with the Bronchos adding three more in the sixth as Tyler Hancock delivered an RBI single and Austin Rycroft a sacrifice fly.
