GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas (Jan. 16) – Central Oklahoma lost just seven individual matches in sweeping three duals at the Lone Star Duals here Saturday.

The No. 3-ranked Bronchos got back-to-back falls by Michael Walkup and Austin Standage  and won eight of 10 matches in an opening-day 36-9 rout of New Mexico Highlands, received pins from brothers Casy Rowell and Cody Rowell and won seven of 10 bouts in a 31-10 triumph over Newman and then ended the day by taking eight of 10 matches in a 28-6 victory over an NWCA All-Star team.

UCO finished 23-7 in individual matches and improved to 5-4 on the year, with the NAIA dual not counting on the team record.

"It was a pretty good day for us and we made some positive strides," head coach David James said.  "We won a few tough matches that could have gone either way and that's always a good sign.  We just have to keep working hard and moving forward."

Casy Rowell opened the NMHU dual with a 4-0 shutout at 125 pounds and Trison Graham followed with a 13-1 major decision at 133 to give the Bronchos a 7-0 lead and that quickly ballooned to 19-0 on Walkup's fall in 3:47 at 141 and Standage's pin in 6:04 at 149.

Colby Robinson (149) prevailed 2-0 on a third-period escape and riding time point, brother Conner Robinson (165) used a riding time point to pull out an 8-7 victory and Walkup won 6-4.
