EDMOND (Sept. 26) --
Alex Richardson, Zuela Adom and Kristen Wilson combined for 46 of Central Oklahoma's 55 kills in leading the Bronchos to a four-set Lone Star Conference triumph over Texas A&M-Kingsville Saturday afternoon at Hamilton Field House.

UCO hit .283 as a team in claiming a 25-15, 15-25, 25-20, 25-20 victory to complete a sweep of its two-game league homestand, improving to 8-9 on the year and 2-2 in the LSC.

Richardson had the best outing of her brief UCO career, hitting a torrid .438 with a season-high 18 kills and just four errors in 32 attacks while adding six blocked shots.  Adom hit .360 with 14 kills, eight digs and six blocks and Wilson also had 14 kills to go along with a team-high 12 digs.

The Bronchos also got a season-high 50 assists and three blocks from Meaghan Wedberg and Taylor Summers hit .333 with six kills and no errors in 18 attacks.

"That was a good win for us," UCO coach Jeff Boyland said.  "We came out and really took it to them in the first set and then kind of let down, but I liked the way we bounced back and finished the match."

The Bronchos breezed past TAMUK in the first set, jumping out to a quick 10-1 lead en route to that easy win before the Javelinas came back to lead all the way in the second set to tie the match.

UCO trailed early in the third set, but took the lead for good at 8-7 on a booming Richardson kill down the line and went on to take that win.  Wilson had back-to-back kills in the fourth set to give the Bronchos an early 4-1 lead and UCO turned back a late TAMUK rally to close out the match.

The Bronchos go on the road the next two weeks before returning home on Oct. 15 to host LSC rival Abilene Christian.
