EDMOND (Sept. 24) --
Kristen Wilson had 10 kills to lead a balanced attack that carried Central Oklahoma to a three-set sweep of Lone Star Conference rival Tarleton State Thursday night at Hamilton Field House.

The Bronchos ended a two-match league losing streak with a 25-17, 25-17, 25-23 victory, dominating the first two sets before pulling out a tough win in the third to complete the sweep.  UCO improved to 7-9 on the year and 1-2 in the league.

Wilson added nine digs to go with her team-high 10 kills, while Courtney Whitlow hit a sizzling .467 with eight kills and just one error in 15 attacks.  Alex Richardson added seven kills, with Zuela Adom and Taylor Summers chipping in five apiece.

"We finished the match tonight, which is something we hadn't been doing," UCO coach Jeff Boyland said.  "We didn't play great, but we got the job done and picked up a much-needed conference win."

The TexAnns overcame a 5-1 deficit in taking a 13-12 lead in the first set, but UCO went back on top 14-13 on a Tarleton attack error.  It was an 18-16 advantage when back-to-back kills by Adom and Wilson gave the Bronchos some breathing room and they pulled away from there.

UCO led all the way in the second set to take control of the match and then rallied to pull out the third set and end the match.  Tarleton led 10-7 in the third before Wilson had a pair of kills in a 3-0 run that tied it and the Bronchos went ahead to stay at 14-13 on a Madi Serratt kill.

UCO returns to league play Saturday, hosting Texas A&M-Kingsville at 2 p.m.
